Katrina has been representing financial institutions for nearly 30 years and is nationally recognized for her work in consumer finance litigation, mass arbitration defense, and class action defense. She advises banks, fintechs, card issuers, payment processors, and specialty finance providers on disputes involving the EFTA, FCRA, TCPA, CROA, RESPA, FDCPA, TILA, and state consumer protection and privacy laws.

Known for her practical, business-focused counsel, Katrina helps clients navigate an increasingly dynamic regulatory environment, manage litigation risk, and translate dispute resolution insights into operational improvements.

A prolific author and commentator on consumer financial services issues, Katrina is frequently invited to speak on litigation trends, arbitration strategies, and class action developments before the American Bar Association, the Conference on Consumer Finance Law, and other local and national industry trade groups.

From 2018-2021, she served as Chair of the ABA’s Consumer Financial Services Committee and is currently the President-Elect of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.

The daughter of Greek immigrants, Katrina was born and raised in Washington, DC (yes, a true native) and still can’t help but refer to “National Airport.” As a young girl she wanted to be a police officer, but later decided she wanted to be a psychologist like her mother. A disappointing grade in Psych 101 changed all that—and jobs in public relations, social work, and law convinced her of her true calling. Her secret vice is celebrity gossip magazines, which she only indulges while on vacation.

She currently serves on the board of Project Education Plus, an organization dedicated to expanding pedagogical, technological, and recreational opportunities for Chicago youth.

She loves horror movie trailers (the campier the better) but can’t stomach actual slasher films.

Katrina loves reading memoirs and non-fictional
accounts of true events.

She’s been known to agonize over punctuation like Oscar Wilde,
who once spent most of the day putting in a comma and the
rest of the day taking it out.

Katrina owes her love of anthropology to the Kapauku people —
and her older brother who introduced her to them.

She completed her one and only triathlon in 2013.

Her youngest son named the family cat Matilda,
after the eponymous Roald Dahl book.
