Prior to joining the firm, Pat spent three years working as a judicial law clerk, first at a Missouri appellate court followed by a one-year term at the federal district court in Brooklyn, New York. Through these experiences, Pat worked closely with judges and learned the types of arguments that tend to be successful in court. He also spent back-to-back summers as a law student working alongside public defenders in Alaska and Washington, D.C., representing clients at evidentiary hearings and sharpening his trial advocacy skills.
Pat was born and raised in a semi-rural suburb outside of St. Louis, where he dreamed of someday becoming a mechanic. Instead, after college, he became an accomplished chef in Chicago’s fine dining community, including at the legendary Charlie Trotter’s. In his free time, he enjoys long bike rides on Sheridan Road and taking care of his growing house plant collection.
