How to Handle Disputes

Disputes are filed by consumers in almost every context, whether with debt collectors, asset buyers, consumer reporting agencies or by credit counseling services and through other parties. Requirements for providing and responding disputes and cease and desist requests can vary under federal and state law.  Katrina Christakis joins Joann Needelman (Maurice & Needleman, P.C.) in a discussion of the interplay of the FDCPA, FCRA,and state law when handling disputes.
